NCA Inside & Out

Updates to Spring and Summer Events

May 6, 2020

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, NCA’s spring and summer events have been reenvisioned or postponed. NCA’s spring public program, “Communicating in the Battlegrounds: Politics in the Purple States,” is available on the NCA website as an episode of Communication Matters: The NCA Podcast. Panelists discussed political communication in our elections and explored the effects it has on public opinion, specifically in battleground states.

The Institute for Faculty Development, also known as the “Hope Conference,” will not be held this year. Instead, NCA will host a virtual faculty-led seminar series beginning June 1. See the NCA website for more details. NCA’s Mid-Career Scholars Workshop has been postponed; the workshop will be held in July 2021 at the University of South Florida. NCA and our hosts at Colorado State University have postponed the 2020 Doctoral Honors Seminar. Working together, NCA and CSU will formulate a plan for DHS. Stay tuned for more information about these events.
