Born and raised in the nation’s capital, Chantay P. Moye is an accomplished communications, marketing and crisis management professional with 30 years of experience. She began her career as a broadcast producer at NBC affiliate WITN-TV, where she became the station’s first African American newsroom manager and oversaw its editorial operations.
After earning a master’s degree in management with a focus on public relations and marketing, Moye advanced into leadership roles at organizations including the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, Melwood HTC, Adventist HealthCare and Holy Cross Health. Her previous work on Project REFOCUS, a collaboration with Howard University and UCLA’s Center for the Study of Racism, Social Justice and Health, highlights her commitment to health equity and social justice. Moye’s research focuses on equity, including space and place, as well as policy, public health and health literacy. Her scholarly contributions include a co-authored book chapter published by Springer and work published through the National Academy of Medicine and the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health.
Moye is widely recognized for transforming health communication and marketing teams into high-performing, mission-driven units and building coalitions that accelerate impact. Her work with brand and institutional advancement leaders — including engagement with major donors and pharmaceutical partners — has strengthened philanthropy marketing by elevating stewardship, donor engagement and community-centered storytelling. Her approach blends data-informed decision-making with digital strategy to produce measurable gains in reach, engagement and institutional credibility.
Moye holds a Ph.D. in communication from Howard University’s Cathy Hughes School of Communications, a master’s degree in management with a concentration in public relations and marketing from the University of Maryland University College (now UMGC), and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and literature from East Carolina University.
