This edited volume brings together womenu2019s narratives about health disruptions and illnesses. The book is organized into three sections that attempt to understand how illnesses impact women at different points in their lives: beginnings, middles, and endings and legacies. This book offers an opportunity to connect and learn from the personal experiences of women living with illnesses.

This book is the winner of the NCA Communication and Aging Divisionu2019s 2020 Outstanding Book Award. Peter M. Kellett is Professor of Communication Studies at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Jennifer M. Hawkins is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at Saint Cloud State University.
