Join us for the June VLO “Creating, Sustaining, and Expanding Public Scholarship and Community-Engaged Work by Harnessing Academic Freedom” on June 26, from 1 – 2:30 p.m. EDT. This VLO will offer strategies for beginning, sustaining, expanding, and supporting public-facing and community-engaged IDEA scholarship and teaching in the current cultural climate. NCA Members with established records of IDEA-focused public-facing and community-engaged scholarship, teaching, and/or community organizing from varying institutions and regions will offer insights in the design, recruitment, support, and promotion of diverse projects through harnessing academic freedom. We will then move into breakout sessions to enable attendees to explore the design and implementation of their potential and current projects with members of the panel. We will close with additional insights for the group as we continue IDEA public scholarship and community-engaged work. The session is designed both for scholars engaged in this work and those who wish to effectively support these efforts.
