Recent and Upcoming Episodes of Communication Matters

On October 29, NCA First Vice President David T. McMahan joined the podcast to discuss some highlights of the then-upcoming NCA 106th Annual Convention, including the Carroll C. Arnold Distinguished Lecture and the Presidential Address and Awards. Registered convention attendees can access recorded convention sessions by logging in to NCA Convention Central until December 31. 

Members are voting now in the 2020 NCA election. In the spirit of informed participation, on November 12, NCA Second Vice Presidential candidates Walid Afifi (University of California, Santa Barbara) and Bonnie J. Dow (Vanderbilt University) shared their experiences and vision for NCA. If you haven’t already, tune into this insightful episode before voting in the NCA election! 

In the November 26 episode of Communication Matters, Jason Edward Black (University of North Carolina at Charlotte), Daniel A. Grano (University of North Carolina at Charlotte), and Abraham Khan (Penn State) discussed issues related to sports communication, including playing during the COVID-19 pandemic, changing teams’ mascots, and political activism by athletes related to the Movement for Black Lives.
