Call for Submissions to Anti-Bullying Initiative Issued
As part of her presidential initiative, Christina S. Beck, currently NCA’s First Vice President, will address the communication aspects of bullying, harassment, and social aggression in the many places in which they occur including schools, workplaces, and online.
Beck intends to create a digital repository that gathers communication-based research and resources into one easily accessible location that anyone with an interest in the subject can explore. In addition, the repository will serve as a place where scholars and practitioners can connect with each other. Beck’s goal is to launch the repository on October 1, 2015—the start of National Bullying Prevention Month.
Communication scholars are invited to submit resources or materials that they have already developed and/or research they have conducted for potential inclusion in the repository. Submissions should be emailed to Wendy Fernando at email@example.com no later than April 1. Ideas or input regarding NCA’s Anti-Bullying Initiative should be emailed to Beck at Beck@ohio.edu.
Individuals whose work is included in the repository will be invited to participate in a brainstorming session during the 2015 NCA Annual Convention. The session will examine ways to advance scholarship and engage in activism.
