Using Technology in the Classroom with NCA’s eTools

January 13, 2015

The ever-expanding software universe provides a variety of programs designed for use in the classroom, as well as others that were intended for different purposes, but which can be readily adapted to add value in educational settings. However, the time needed to stay current on all of the options, and to develop classroom applications, is more than most people can devote to the technical side of teaching.

In an effort to help NCA members take advantage of technical tools now on the market, the Educational Policies Board has introduced a new section to the Virtual Faculty Lounge. eTools is an essay series designed to provide practical advice for Communication instructors on how to integrate technology into the classroom. The series currently covers the following:

Livebinders – Shannon VanHorn, Valley City State University

Instagram – Danielle Stern, Christopher Newport University

Padlet – Kimberly M. Weismann, Williston State College

Google Docs – Jonna Ziniel, Valley City State University

eTools are published monthly. Sign up for the RSS feed on the eTools page of the NCA web site to be notified when new content is available.
