NCA offers a range of professional development opportunities for Communication teachers and scholars each summer. Registration recently opened for the Hope Conference.

The NCA Institute for Faculty Development, also known as the “Hope Conference,” is a small, intensive, week-long institute that provides undergraduate Communication faculty feedback on scholarship, collaborative research and pedagogical relationships, new directions in theory and pedagogy, and the chance to develop new course area expertise. The 2016 conference will be held at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Speakers will include: Brenda Allen (Organizational Communication and Diversity), Larry Frey (Engaged Communication Research & Teaching), Lynn Harter (Storytelling and Health Communication), Yahya Kamalipour (Global Media), Scott Lyons (Native American Rhetoric), and Lynn Turner (Family Communication). Dawn O. Braithwaite will be the 2016 Scholar-in-Residence.
