ECA Now Accepting Submissions for 2018 Convention in Pittsburgh
With the theme of “Building Bridges,” the Eastern Communication Association (ECA) returns to Pittsburgh for its 109th annual convention on April 25-28, 2018. Just as Pittsburgh’s 446 bridges connect communities across the city, communication connects researchers, teachers, and professionals within and outside of our discipline. ECA invites paper, panel, and poster submissions that build bridges between disciplines, between theory and practice, and between academic pursuits and civic engagement.
The convention will also host the 8th Annual James C. McCroskey and Virginia P. Richmond Undergraduate Scholars Conference. This conference features top research from undergraduate students in the region and is highly competitive. ECA encourages faculty to think about how their students’ work applies to the convention theme as either a competitive paper, panel discussion, or poster presentation.
The convention will be held at the Omni William Penn hotel. Walking distance from museums, theaters and downtown restaurants, the hotel was commissioned by Pittsburgh industrialist Henry Clay Frick and designed by renowned architects Benno Janssen and Franklin Abbott. Its Old World style and many amenities make it a regular feature in ECA’s site rotations.
