NCA Out & About

February 10, 2016

On January 22, NCA Executive Director Nancy Kidd and Director of Academic and Professional Affairs Trevor Parry-Giles participated in a panel at the Association of American Colleges & Universities Annual Meeting. The panel, “Tuning Disciplines and Engaging Departments in Using Learning Outcomes Across General Education: Lessons from Two Learned Societies,” also included leaders from the American Historical Association. Kidd and Parry-Giles shared lessons learned from NCA’s Learning Outcomes in Communication Project.

On February 2-3, Parry-Giles attended Lumina Foundation’s convening, “It Is All About Learning,” in Indianapolis. NCA was one of two disciplinary societies represented there. The group of 60 leaders from across higher education gathered to discuss new ideas and next steps for co-curricular learning, what learning creates, and how we measure learning.
