NCA 101st Annual Convention - Las Vegas

NCA Convention Central Now Open for Submissions

February 12, 2015

NCA’s 101st Annual Convention, to be held November 19-22 in Las Vegas, has a theme of “Embracing Opportunities” for the discipline’s next 100 years. This theme will serve as a framework for conversations about innovative ideas for enacting roles and fulfilling responsibilities as teachers, scholars, administrators, practitioners, and community members.

Christina S. Beck, Ohio University, NCA’s First Vice President and primary program planner, invites imaginative and thought-provoking submissions for the convention. Useful tips as well as step-by-step instructions on how to submit proposals for individual papers, paper sessions, panel discussions, and performance sessions can be found in the Convention Resource Library. Submissions are now being accepted at Convention Central; the deadline is Wednesday, March 25.

In the spirit of embracing opportunities, a new opportunity to engage with colleagues will launch at the convention: The Best Book Club Ever. The club, which might include films or articles in addition to books, is meant to foster a sense of community and to spark engaging discussions relevant to the many roles of Communication scholars. Co-planners Kathleen M. Edelmayer and Jillian Tullis will select material for The Best Book Club Ever from suggestions they receive. They also welcome volunteers who are willing to facilitate discussions at the convention.
