As part of NCA’s contract with our publishing partner Taylor & Francis,
T&F will develop a data base containing digital versions of approximately
400 “classic” journal articles in XML format. You are invited to nominate one
or more NCA journal articles for this “classic” collection.
You can enter the site and nominate articles as often as you want and
nominate as many different articles as you want. However, please do not
nominate any one article more than once.
Why are we asking for nominations?
Taylor and Francis has agreed to produce a database of 400 of the most
significant articles from NCA journals. The NCA Publications Board and its
director, David Zarefsky, proposed and the Executive Committee approved the
process for selecting the articles:
-
Approximately 50 “landmark” articles that were published in NCA journals
prior to 1965 will be included. This list will be created by a task force
consisting of one Past President (Judy Pearson), one former editor (Karlyn
Kohrs Campbell), one historian of the discipline (Herman Cohen), one member of
the Research Board (Dawn Braithwaite), and one member of the Publications Board
(Judith Hamera).
-
NCA members will nominate articles.
The task force will review the member nominations and will select approximately
250 articles from among those nominated by members.
-
Articles that have won either the Golden Anniversary Monograph Award or
the Charles H. Woolbert Research Award will be included in the collection. To
see the list of winners of these awards, go to

-
Texts of the Carroll C. Arnold Lectures will be included in the collection with
the approval of Allyn & Bacon and the consent of Taylor & Francis.
