Research on
youth—William T. Grant Fnd
The goal of the William
T. Grant Foundation is to help create a society that values young people
and enables them to reach their full potential. It pursues this goal
primarily by investing in research: in health, social and behavioral
sciences, such as anthropology, economics, education, health services,
political science, history, demography, and sociology; in marketing and
communications disciplines; and in those fields traditionally concerned
with youth development and mental health, such as pediatrics,
psychology, psychiatry, and social work. The Foundation supports three
new programs of research that focus on Youth Development, Systems
Affecting Youth, and the Public's View of Youth. The Foundation is
especially interested in interdisciplinary research, including policy
analyses and strategic communications research.
Additionally, the
Foundation supports the development of promising junior (i.e.,
pre-tenure) scholars in tenure-track positions through its Faculty
Scholars Program, and youth-serving organizations in NY, NJ, and CT
through its Youth Service Grants.
The Foundation does not
support or make contributions to conferences and meetings; fellowships
and scholarships; building funds; fund-raising drives; operating budgets
of ongoing service agencies or educational institutions; or endowments.
The Foundation has no geographic boundaries for its research projects.
