DESC: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) through   the Program Support Center is soliciting bids to award a   fourteen (14) month simplified acquisition for a Violence   Prevention Media Project. The = CMHS will conduct an outreach   initiative in collaboration with the entertainment industry.   The purpose of the initiative is to educate = the entertainment   industry about the importance of promoting accurate = and effective   youth violence prevention messages. The campaign shall = begin with a kick-off event in Washington D.C. to recognize a person   or = a production company who has already produced one or more   programs = (plays, movies, or television shows) appropriately   communicating youth = violence prevention messages and who   can serve as a role model within = the entertainment industry.   During the event, the person or production company selected   will share what they have learned about successful strategies   to incorporate appropriate messages in their programs with the audience. The Contractor shall develop a resource packet   of materials on youth violence prevention and tips for communicating effective messages based upon CMHS research. These packets   shall be distributed during a series of briefings CMHS will   conduct following = the recognition event for directors, producers,   writers, and actors in = Los Angeles and in New York City.   During the briefings, participants = shall have an opportunity   to discuss specific strategies to incorporate violence prevention   messages into their programming. Following the briefings,   the Contractor shall report on television shows, movies, or plays that addressed youth violence prevention issues as   a result of = the CMHS briefings.
