Individual Member Categories

NCA's membership categories are Regular, Sustaining, Patron, Life, Emeritus, and Student.

Members in all categories receive basic membership benefits: voting rights, the ability to affiliate with NCA's units, and Spectra, the association's newsletter. Online access to journal subscriptions and journals archive.

All members also receive at least one serial publication.  Regular, Sustaining, Emeritus, and Student members receive one journal and the right to subscribe to additional journals.  Patron and Life members receive all six NCA journals.

NCA convention registration fees are included with Sustaining, Patron, Life, and  Emeritus membership.  Regular and Student members receive discounted rates. Click on the membership category below to go directly to a membership form.

NCA Departmental Membership

Any department may be admitted to departmental membership. Departmental members are entitled to such rights, privileges and services as NCA from time to time may authorize, but shall not have voting privileges. Department membership benefits are listed below. This membership has no relationship to individuals or individual memberships, no do these provisions apply to libraries or their agents.
