In 1962, Free Speech Yearbook was founded as a journal to
showcase the best research on free speech and First Amendment issues. It soon
became—and remains to this day—a vital journal for the communication discipline.
Taylor & Francis, publisher of 10 NCA journals, has
expressed its profound confidence in the scholarly work that Free Speech
Yearbook publishes by welcoming the journal into its communication portfolio.
Beginning in 2013, Taylor & Francis will publish the journal twice a year.
Increasing the journal’s frequency required a name change.
The Publications Board selected First Amendment Studies. While the name and
frequency of the journal have changed, First Amendment Studies will continue to
publish top scholarship addressing any and
all matters pertaining to free speech and the First Amendment.
NCA members will be able to select First Amendment Studies as
their free journal subscription.
Nonmembers interested in subscribing to First Amendment Studies in 2013 may contact Taylor & Francis.
