Sigma Chi Eta is the official community college honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA). The society was founded in 2000.

The goals of Sigma Chi Eta are to:

bullet

recognize, foster, and reward outstanding scholastic achievement;

bullet

stimulate interest in the field of communication;

bullet

promote and encourage professional development among communication majors;

bullet

provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas about the field;

bullet

establish and maintain close relationships and understanding between faculty and students; and 

bullet

explore options for further undergraduate/graduate studies.
