Roudtables on Research in Progress

NCA has a strong commitment not only to creating opportunities for formal presentation of completed research projects but also to nurturing research in progress. Since 2009, NCA has provided convention-goers with opportunities to discuss scholarship that has yet come to fruition (e.g., publication, presentation, performance, etc.).  Roundtables on Research in Progress (RRiP) are designed to facilitate conversations about the direction and challenges of current research projects that are not yet completed.

Groups of four to six scholars who examine similar areas of study will meet in round-table discussion groups for 75-minute sessions to informally discuss their current research projects. Each round table presenter will provide 5-7 minute summaries of his/her project for the table and pose questions to which s/he would like feedback. Next, the round table participants will provide approximately 10 minutes of peer feedback and suggestions to each presenter, following a set of suggested discussion questions provided by the planners.

Submissions should be made via the online submission process. Roundtables on Research in Progress will begin accepting submissions in June 2013.
