Communication Assessment Commission

The National Communication Association plays an active role in the process of assessing communication. Two units of NCA involve members in a variety of assessment-related activities.

Communication Assessment Commission

The Communication Assessment Commission was established in 1990 through the petition of NCA members. The officers of the commission are elected at an annual business meeting held at the NCA national convention every November. The commission has responsibility for reviewing and programming assessment-related events and panels for the national convention. Typically, ten to twelve jury-reviewed panels are programmed every year by the commission. A description of the types of programs and papers to be programmed by the commission is included in the annual call for the convention.
