“Everglades Ecotour Adventure”

Florida Everglades Airboat Ride and Ecological Tour

Not far from the teeming metropolis of Miami lies a vast stretch of primeval quiet:  800 square miles of unspoiled wilderness known as the Everglades. This 6,000-year old fresh water "river of grass" provides the habitat and protection for endangered and threatened species, such as the American alligator, and a variety of birds and fish.

You will travel by deluxe motorcoach about one hour en route to the Everglades.  There, your adventure will begin with the thrill of an airboat ride.  Powered by an aircraft engine propeller, the airboat will speed up to 50 mph across the water and through the grasses.

During the ride, your driver/guide will explain the ecological system of the Everglades, stop to feed fish, and point out South Florida’s unusual flora and fauna.  You will also enjoy an exciting alligator show and have the chance to explore the replica of an 18th century Indian Village.

Practice your Spanish, drink cafe con leche, and buy Santeria candles or hand-rolled cigars, then dance the night away…Your evening starts in Little Havana (Calle Ocho in Miami), where you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the lively and colorful streets, experience Domino Park, see how Cuban cigars are made (and smoke them, too, if you like!), and take in the rich aromas of Cuban coffee.  Take home a little bit of Cuba, too -- you will have a chance to shop at the famous Havana to Go store.But the night will have just begun…Next, you will be transported to international star Gloria Estefan's salsa club Bongos, where the lights, sound and energy will make you “shake your body to the conga beat!”

This guided walking tour of Miami’s Art Deco District and Wolfsonian Museum will explore the city’s fantastic architecture from the 20’s to the 60’s and unforgettable American art from the modern period.

The tour begins with a narrated walk through the Art Deco District in famous South Beach, where the historic preservation of buildings and the #1 urban beach have found the perfect balance. Walk the district and feel the electricity of the café society and neon lights, while you view the unique architecture in the only 20th century historic district listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

You will also tour the area’s Wolfsonian Museum of Florida International University.  Its fascinating collection of objects from the modern era (1885-1945) focuses on how art and design both shape and reflect the human experience.  This is a dramatic, first-hand look at the people and design that have shaped – and are still shaping – Miami’s trendiest area.
