New Feature for 2004:  The Discussion Panel

The 2004 Convention will feature a new type of panel: the discussion panel.  For these sessions, participants will post their papers online.  Persons who attend the panel have the opportunity to read the papers before attending the sessions.  Then, panel participants and the audience can discuss the papers rather than having them presented in the traditional style.  The goal of this new format is to encourage discussion and engagement of both the panelists and the audience.

Discussion panels will be noted in the Convention Program.  Planners are asked to make at least 25% of their panels discussion panels.  Of course, participants should be notified when their panel is accepted if they are to use this new format.
