Award Process

Any communication department that chooses to participate can issue a call for applicants,  oversee  nominations, and choose a recipient, based on criteria established by NCA's Research Board. NCA does not oversee or approve selection of the awardees. The winner receives a certificate, a letter of recognition from NCA, and his or her name and the title of the research project is listed on the NCA web site. The award may be presented as many times annually as the department chooses,  to as many students, and at any time during the academic year. Research projects may be single or multiple authors.

Each departmental award is provided for a fee of $75 fee, which covers costs for one  certificate, engraving, certificate binder, mailing, and web presentation. If multiple authors want individual certificates and binders, the fee of $75 is paid for each author.

Send the name of the award-winning student(s) and the name of the research project to the NCA National Office marked to the attention of Rena Culotta.
